Guzmania
- Common name:- Often labelled as Bromeliads
- Temperatures:- Between 15°C (60°F) and 30°C (85°F)
- Light levels:- Medium to Good indirect light
- Notes:- Guzmania are evergreen epiphytic perennial Bromeliaceae, epyphytic means that they grow on the surface of another plant without causing harm. Originating in the tropical forests stretching from Southern Mexico and the Caribbean down through Brazil, these plants flourish in high humidity. Water by filling the central cup with room temperature rain water while keeping the soil lightly moist but not waterlogged. The colourful bracts that these plants are known for can last for many months and sometimes years but when they die off that is the end of that plant. Do not worry though as a number of young plants will grow around the dying original and these will eventually colour up.
